LEGAL
Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of I start Monday. Read them before creating an account or buying credits.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms are an agreement between you and IStartMonday, Inc., a Delaware corporation, doing business as I start Monday. By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, buying credits, or using the Service, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you may bind it.
2. The Service
I start Monday. is an AI-assisted job-search and application workspace. Depending on the features available to your account, it may help you discover jobs, compare match scores, build a Master Profile, generate or revise career documents, save your work in your account and download copies, track application status, and connect Gmail to create follow-up drafts.
The Service is a tool for job seekers. It is not an employer, recruiter, staffing agency, legal adviser, or guarantor of employment. Unless a separate feature expressly says otherwise, the Service does not submit applications, send messages, accept offers, or act on your behalf. You decide where, when, and how to apply.
3. Third-party jobs and services
Job listings, salary data, company information, and links may come from employers, job boards, public sources, and data providers. We do not control or endorse those parties and cannot guarantee that a listing is accurate, current, lawful, available, or free from fraud. Verify a role and employer before sharing information or paying anyone. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their terms and privacy policies.
4. Accounts and security
Provide accurate account information, keep credentials secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by our breach of these Terms or applicable law. We may require email verification, fraud checks, or reauthentication.
5. Your saved work, storage limits, and backups
The Service saves your original uploads, Master Profile, extracted facts, generated documents, and their version history in your private account on our servers, so the same work is available when you sign in on another device. A change counts as saved only after our server confirms it; until then, your browser keeps it and retries. Your browser also keeps a cached copy of your saved work, and signing out does not remove it, so on a shared computer clear this site's data after use. You authorize us to store and process the content you add for the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We set reasonable storage limits, currently 8 MB per original file, about 100 MB of original files, and about 25 MB of saved workspace content per account, and we may change them prospectively. We keep your saved work while your account is active, but the Service is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of anything important, for example by downloading PDF or DOCX files. Content that was never saved to your account, such as an original file from before September 14, 2026 that your browser no longer holds, can only be restored from a copy you still have.
6. AI output and user review
AI-generated matches and documents can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated, or unsuitable. They may include claims that do not match your experience. You must review and approve every output before submitting it or relying on it. Do not use generated text to misrepresent qualifications, identity, work authorization, education, employment history, or other material facts. The Service does not provide legal, immigration, financial, or other professional advice.
7. Google connection
If you connect Google, you authorize the limited access shown on the Google consent screen and in the product. If Gmail drafts are available to your account, the connection lets the Service create draft emails in your Gmail account that you review and send yourself; it does not read, send, or delete your email. You may disconnect at any time. You must not use the integration to access another person's account without permission. Google services are governed by Google's terms, and availability may depend on Google verification, scopes, and service status.
8. Credits, pricing, and payment
Document generation and other paid features may use credits. The current credit cost of each action, package contents, price, currency, taxes, and any expiration are shown before purchase or use. Prices and future credit costs may change prospectively, but a change will not retroactively reduce a purchased balance except as permitted by law and disclosed at purchase.
Currently, an eligible new account receives 10 free promotional credits. At the launch credit rates shown in Billing, this is enough for up to 33 standalone CVs or 10 CV + Cover Letter + Annual Plan packages. The illustration assumes the current credit costs and does not guarantee that pricing will never change. Free, promotional, referral, and creator-code credits are valid for 6 months from the date they are granted, are non-transferable, and have no cash value except where required by law, exactly like purchased credits; any purchase or grant extends all your credits to 6 months from that day, never earlier than they already were. Credits granted before September 27, 2026 without a stated expiration date keep no expiration, since an expiration date is only ever moved later, never added or moved earlier. Future promotional and referral offers may carry additional eligibility rules disclosed with the offer. We may prevent duplicate, fraudulent, or abusive promotional claims.
Paid purchases are processed through Stripe Checkout. Credit purchases are one-time purchases and do not automatically renew. We will not enroll you in a subscription unless a future subscription is clearly disclosed and you separately authorize it before checkout. Purchased credits are non-transferable, have no cash value except where required by law, and are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase; any purchase or grant extends all your credits to 6 months from that day, never earlier than they already were.
A generation charge posts only when the Service delivers the requested output. If a verified technical failure consumes credits without delivering the output, the affected credits are restored. Revisions requested through the AI editing feature do not consume additional user credits. To protect the Service from automated or excessive use, we may temporarily impose a reasonable cooling period or rate limit after unusually high revision activity. A cooling period does not erase, reduce, or expire a purchased credit balance.
9. Refunds and chargebacks
You may request a refund within 7 calendar days after purchase if none of the purchased credits has been used. Once any credit from that purchase has been used, the purchase is final except where law requires otherwise or the Service failed to deliver. Approved refunds return to the original payment method through Stripe. If we permanently discontinue the Service, we will provide at least 30 days to use purchased credits or, where required by law, provide a proportional refund for unused paid credits. Contact support before initiating a chargeback so we can investigate, but this does not waive any rights under law or your card agreement.
10. Promotions, referrals, creator codes, and promo codes
Promotions, referral rewards, and promo codes may have additional rules shown with the offer, including eligibility, the qualifying action (for the referral program, the invited friend's first generated document or first payment, whichever comes first), reward timing, expiration, and limits (for the referral program, no more than 10 rewarded friends per calendar month, Pacific time). They may not be sold, duplicated, automated, or combined unless allowed. We may withhold or reverse a reward obtained through fraud, self-referral, duplicate accounts, chargeback, or violation of the offer terms.
Creators in our partner program can share a code or a link with their audience. A new account that signs up with a creator code, through the creator's link or by typing the code at sign-up, receives 10 extra credits on top of the free credits described in section 8. These credits are valid for 6 months from the date they are granted, are non-transferable, and have no cash value, like other promotional credits. A creator code applies only to a new account, only once, and only if it is claimed within 7 days after the account is created. A code from a link stays in your browser for up to 60 days.
A creator code cannot be combined with a friend referral. Whichever is claimed first is the only one that applies to your account, and it cannot be changed later. A creator code does not change the price you pay.
A creator who referred you earns a commission on your purchases and can see limited information about your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. Creators are also bound by the Partner Program Terms at istartmonday.com/partner-terms. Those terms do not change your rights under these Terms.
11. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the Service unlawfully or to create or submit materially false job-application information.
- Impersonate another person, access another account, add another person's LinkedIn profile or documents as your own, or misrepresent identity or authorization.
- Upload malware or sensitive data that is unnecessary for the requested feature.
- Circumvent credits, promotional limits, cooling periods, rate limits, authentication, access controls, or security measures.
- Probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Service except where law expressly allows it.
- Use automated means to create accounts, harvest job data from the Service, or generate content at a volume inconsistent with ordinary personal use.
- Use outputs to discriminate unlawfully, make unauthorized employment decisions about others, or violate third-party rights or terms.
12. Your content and our limited license
You retain your rights in content you provide. You grant us and our processors a limited, worldwide license to host, store, copy, transmit, transform, and process that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the requested user-facing features, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license ends when the content is deleted from our systems, subject to backups and legal retention as described in the Privacy Policy.
As between you and us, and to the extent permitted by law, you may use generated output for your own purposes. We do not guarantee that AI output is unique, protectable, or free of similar content generated for others. You are responsible for having rights to the material you submit and for your use of the output.
13. Our intellectual property and feedback
We and our licensors own the Service, software, designs, brand, and related intellectual property. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal job-search purposes while your account is active. If you send feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use it without identifying you or disclosing confidential career content.
14. Beta features and service changes
We may label features as beta, preview, or experimental. They may be incomplete, change, or be withdrawn. We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service, add or remove providers, and impose reasonable technical limits. We will provide notice where required by law and will not intentionally erase a purchased credit balance solely because a feature changes.
15. Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time in Settings > Privacy & Data. We handle deletion requests as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for a material violation, fraud, security risk, legal requirement, nonpayment, or conduct that threatens the Service or others. When reasonably possible, we will give notice and an opportunity to cure. Account deletion does not delete copies you downloaded, drafts already created in your Gmail, or documents you already sent to employers. Treatment of unused purchased credits on termination remains subject to the payment rules above and applicable law.
16. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE JOB AVAILABILITY, MATCH ACCURACY, DOCUMENT ACCURACY, INTERVIEWS, OFFERS, EMPLOYMENT, UNINTERRUPTED ACCESS, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET EVERY EMPLOYER OR APPLICANT-TRACKING REQUIREMENT. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Everything shown on our public website - the workspace pictures on the home page and elsewhere, job titles, employers, locations, pay ranges, match scores, application statuses, document previews, activity counts, company logos, photographs, and quotations - is an illustrative example created for demonstration. It is not a live job listing, an offer of employment, a real application, a real user, a customer endorsement, or a representation about any named company, and it does not predict the roles, pay, scores, or results you will see. Nothing on those pages is part of this agreement or a warranty of any kind.
17. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER I START MONDAY. NOR ITS SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST OPPORTUNITIES, INCOME, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. This limitation does not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, infringement caused by us, obligations that cannot legally be limited, or where consumer law prohibits it.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless IStartMonday, Inc., doing business as I start Monday, and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service, material misrepresentation in an application, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights. We will promptly notify you and allow reasonable control of the defense, subject to our right to participate. This section does not require a consumer to indemnify us for our own negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of law.
19. Governing law and disputes
Before filing a claim, either party must send a written notice describing the dispute and requested resolution to support@istartmonday.com and allow 30 days for a good-faith informal resolution. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or filing an eligible claim in small claims court.
California law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent the law of your residence gives you non-waivable consumer rights. Subject to the preceding informal process, any court proceeding must be brought in the state courts located in Santa Clara County, California, or the federal courts with jurisdiction there. We are not requiring arbitration and these Terms do not include a class-action waiver.
20. General terms
These Terms and incorporated policies are the entire agreement about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, or sale, subject to applicable law. Neither party is liable for delay caused by events beyond reasonable control. Headings are for convenience only.
21. Changes, notices, and contact
We may update these Terms. Material changes will have a revised effective date and additional notice where required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms, except where law requires affirmative consent. Legal and support notices may be sent to your account email or posted in the Service. Contact IStartMonday, Inc., doing business as I start Monday, at support@istartmonday.com or 2260 Homestead Ct, Unit 205, Los Altos, CA 94024.
